Last week we left Dunedin and went to the Routeburn. It is a track with huts along the way and it takes 3-4 days to walk the whole thing. It goes through Mt Aspiring National Park and Fiordland National Park. It takes 2.5 hours to get to the first hut. It takes 1.5 hours to get to the second hut.
The first day we went to the first hut, the second day we did a day walk up to the second hut. On the last day it was raining and we walked back down to the carpark.
This is me on one of the swing bridges.
This is near the first hut. The first night we camped at the campsite. Then the second night we stayed in the hut.
This is me as far as we went. We had lunch at the second hut and then went back down to the first hut. You can see the roof of the second hut very faintly in this picture.
Hi Lucy! Are you still on the Routeburn track (great pics) or did you get as far as the Melbourne trampolines? (Just teasing!) What have you been doing lately? Perhaps you have been busy helping to look after Aunty Naomi's children? Nana x

ReplyDeleteWow Lucy, you are a little explorer. We are all missing you in P1-3. I'm needing you back to keep all these silly boys in order. Everyones asking what day you will be back in school. We've got lots of snow on the hills, but it's been too windy to get up skiing. Have fun. See you soon.

Hi Mrs Gilchrist. We leave here on Tuesday (18th), get back home on Thursday, and we'll be back at school on Monday! I've had a good time. I liked Tasmania best. It'll be good to get back home. See you soon! Lucy
